Optical Technician for Lenses, based in On Nut 17

• Edging lenses using machines or by hand
• Inserting or installing lenses
• Inspecting finished work
• Inspecting eyeglasses to ensure that glasses or various parts meet mechanical and prescription standards
• Operating the generator (lens edging machine)
• Blocking lenses by hand or machine
• Providing lenses and frames according to prescriptions, including calculating Transposition, Base Curve, etc.
• Receiving and recording daily data
• Ordering frames and lenses according to prescriptions and safety stock
• Receiving and inspecting incoming stock
• Adjusting cut lenses
• Maintaining and updating frame and lens information in the system
• Managing stock of other optometric equipment
• Performing cycle counts for frame and lens stock
• Entering data and printing job sheets from the computer
• Printing barcodes for frames delivered each day
• Notifying internal customers of Backorder issues and confirming delivery dates
• Coordinating with all optometry branches daily regarding the status of frames and lenses
• Performing other related duties and must always follow reasonable work instructions from the employer and/or supervisor

Qualifications: Age 18 years and above Experience in lens edging and eyeglass assembly will be specially considered Able to communicate well in English for operational use Working hours 9:00 - 18:00. Able to work overtime; OT will be considered as appropriate (Rotating holidays, 7 days off / month; holidays may not fall on public holidays or Saturdays-Sundays, depending on the supervisor's schedule) Able to start work immediately will be specially considered
