Motor Vehicle Spray Painter

An experienced Motor Vehicle Spray Painter and Panel Beater for our workshop in Ubi. The candidate should be able to handle the complete vehicle body repair and painting process, including panel beating, putty application, surface preparation, spray painting and finishing. Responsibilities Inspect vehicle bodywork and identify areas requiring repair or repainting.

Perform panel beating, knocking and dent repairs to restore damaged panels to their original shape.

Apply and shape body filler and putty to achieve smooth, even surfaces.

Prepare surfaces through sanding, rust removal, cleaning, degreasing and masking.

Mix and match paint colours according to vehicle colour codes and existing paintwork.

Apply primer, basecoat and clearcoat using suitable spray equipment.

Carry out touch-ups, individual panel painting and full vehicle resprays.

Complete sanding, polishing and paint correction to achieve a consistent, high-quality finish.

Inspect completed work and rectify defects before vehicle handover.

Maintain spray guns, tools and the work area, and follow workshop safety procedures.

Requirements Relevant hands-on experience in motor vehicle spray painting and body repairs.

Ability to independently complete the full process, including panel beating, putty work, preparation, painting and finishing.

Practical knowledge of colour matching, paint mixing and spray gun operation.

Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

Ability to work responsibly, cooperate with colleagues and meet agreed completion timelines.

Familiarity with the safe handling of paints, thinners and workshop equipment.
