Responsibilities and assignments We are looking for an Artificial Intelligence Specialist to lead the technical AI strategy of a large law firm, defining the reference architecture (traditional and generative AI), responsible AI governance, and the operation of the AI Center of Excellence (CoE). The position is the ultimate reference in artificial intelligence solutions applied to Law, ensuring alignment between technological innovation, legal business needs, and regulatory compliance. Interlocution occurs with the organization's leadership, with IT teams, and with non-technical users, including lawyers in the process of AI adoption.

Main responsibilities

• Maintain the AI reference architecture, encompassing traditional AI (ML, NLP, computer vision) and generative AI (LLMs).
• Lead the implementation and operation of the AI Center of Excellence (CoE), establishing processes, methodologies, and standards for the development and delivery of solutions.
• Develop and prioritize AI use cases based on legal business impact and technical feasibility.
• Elaborate and update the AI technological roadmap aligned with the IT master plan and the organization's strategy.
• Ensure the responsible AI framework, including ethical principles, transparency, explainability, and bias mitigation.
• Implement and maintain compliance with ISO 42001, LGPD, and Information Security and Privacy guidelines, including data protection impact assessments.
• Ensure interoperability, security, and user experience in the AI tool ecosystem, integrating legal AI platforms, generative AI assistants, and knowledge management tools.
• Continuously evaluate new AI technologies (autonomous agents, advanced ML, IoT) and recommend their adoption when applicable.
• Develop and apply an AI ROI measurement methodology, build adoption dashboards, and present periodic executive reports to leadership.
• Provide technical guidance to Data & Analytics, Data Engineering, and other IT teams regarding the validation, use, and maintenance of AI tools, and support the advanced AI training program for lawyers.

Requirements and qualifications

Mandatory requirements

• 5+ years of experience with applied artificial intelligence and machine learning, with solutions taken to production.
• Proven experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and applied generative AI.
• Mastery of MLOps, model lifecycle, and production deployment.
• Proficiency in Python and ML/NLP libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain or similar).
• Knowledge of data architecture (data lake, data warehouse, and data pipelines).
• Experience with cloud environments (SaaS and IaaS) in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Knowledge of LGPD and data protection regulations applied to AI.
• Experience in legal tech and understanding of the legal environment.
• Advanced or fluent English for technical reading and interaction with international suppliers.

Differentials

• Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), or related areas.
• Previous experience in structuring an AI Center of Excellence (CoE).
• Knowledge of governance and architecture frameworks (ISO 42001, TOGAF, COBIT).
• Experience with autonomous agents and evaluation of emerging AI technologies.
• Experience with ROI measurement methodologies for technology initiatives.
• Construction of dashboards and indicators for adoption and use of corporate tools.
