Job summary
The Department of Psychology and Education in the School of Arts and Sciences at the Lebanese American University invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate in Education. The department is seeking highly qualified and motivated faculty members who are committed to research, innovative teaching, program development, and academic advising.
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Education, with a focus on Teaching English and related areas.
Supervise senior study projects, MA theses, and student research.
Supervise and coordinate practicum experiences and support students in their professional development.
Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
Engage actively in service to the program, department, school, university, and profession, including committee and governance activities.
Contribute to the development, assessment, and continuous improvement of the program and its curriculum.
Develop partnerships with schools, educational institutions, and relevant professional organizations, as appropriate.
Seek external funding and contribute to grant development and other externally funded initiatives.
Contribute to the department's research goals through scholarly research, publication, and other professional and academic activities.
Participate in accreditation, quality assurance, recruitment, and other departmental or institutional initiatives, as appropriate.
Undertake additional academic and service responsibilities as determined by the department in light of its needs and priorities.
Minimum qualifications
A PhD/Ed.D. in Teaching English, English Language Teaching, or related field from a well-recognized university.
University teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Proven research track record with publications in reputable journals.
Preferred qualifications
Teaching experience at schools (K–12).
Securing external funding for research.
Department profile
The Psychology and Education Department is one of the nine departments of the School of Arts and Sciences at the Lebanese American University. It offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Education, a B.S. in Psychology, a Master of Arts (MA) in Education, a Diploma in Learning Disability and Giftedness, and various Teaching Diplomas (TD).
