Education:
College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience.
Work setting:
Dental practice.
Willing to relocate.
Tasks:
- Prepare patients for dental examinations.
- Prepare dental instruments and filling materials.
- Maintain and order supplies.
- Educate patients concerning oral hygiene.
- Schedule and confirm appointments.
- Take and develop X-rays.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Implement treatment plans.
- Assist in the preparation and administration of examinations.
- Coordinate patient care.
- Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team.
Supervision:
1 to 2 people.
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses :
Certification by the National Dental Assisting Examining Board.
Technical expertise (dental):
- Plastering.
- Waxing-up.
- Polishing.
Computer and technology knowledge:
- MS Excel.
- MS Outlook.
- MS Word.
Equipment, eystems and controls experience:
Medical and biomedical equipment and systems.
