ASSISTANT CONTRACTS MANAGER
Job Responsibilities Assist the Contracts Manager in the overall administration and management of construction contracts. Review and manage main contract and subcontract agreements, including contractual terms and conditions. Prepare, evaluate and submit variation orders, claims and extension of time (EOT)submissions. Monitor project costs, contract values, variations and potential commercial risks. Prepare and review progress claims, payment responses, valuations and final accounts. Manage subcontractor contracts, including tender evaluation, negotiations, payment claims and final accounts. Liaise with clients, consultants, quantity surveyors, subcontractors and suppliers on contractual and commercial matters. Monitor contractual deadlines, notices and submission requirements to ensure compliance with contract conditions. Assist in preparing contractual correspondence, reports and commercial documentation. Review project drawings, specifications and other contract documents to identify contractual and commercial implications. Assist in resolving contractual disputes, claims and other commercial issues. Maintain proper records of contracts, claims, variations, correspondence and supporting documents. Provide commercial advice and support to the Project Team on contractual matters. Assist with tendering and procurement activities when required. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Management.
Job Requirements Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building or a related discipline. Minimum5 years of relevant experience in contracts administration / quantity surveying within the construction industry. Experience in main contractor or subcontractor environment will be advantageous. Goodknowledge of construction contracts, variation claims, EOT, progress claims andfinal accounts. Strongcommercial and negotiation skills. Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications and project documentation. Good written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. Able to work independently and manage multiple projects or deadlines effectively. Strongattention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
