Senior International Accountant | EMEA Scope | Oost-Vlaanderen For an international and rapidly growing technology organization in the Oost-Vlaanderen region, we are looking for a Senior International Accountant who will take responsibility for the accounting and financial reporting of various international entities. You will join a global controllership environment and receive broad responsibility across multiple countries within EMEA. In this role, you will combine international accounting, statutory reporting, US GAAP, consolidation, process optimization, and team coaching. You will report directly to the Global Accounting Director and work closely with local finance teams, external accountants, auditors, and Corporate Accounting.

Your package of tasks

• You take ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings of various international entities.
• You coordinate accounting activities across multiple countries, currencies, and deadlines.
• You monitor the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of financial results.
• You review entries and accounting activities prepared by external accounting partners.
• You monitor balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, and prepayments.
• You ensure that local books comply with relevant local GAAP regulations and internal accounting policies.
• You analyze variances and accounting differences and ensure correct resolution.

• You coordinate the preparation of statutory financial statements for various entities.
• You are a key point of contact for external auditors and accounting providers.
• You support the reconciliation from local GAAP to US GAAP.
• You contribute to corporate reporting, consolidation, intercompany eliminations, and currency translation.
• You ensure that international results are correctly included in the consolidated figures.
• You support technical accounting analyses and the implementation of corporate accounting policies. Geplakte tekst
• You manage relationships with external accounting firms and monitor quality, deadlines, and deliverables.
• You identify opportunities to make outsourced accounting processes more efficient and consistent.
• You guide and develop junior accounting profiles and act as a subject matter expert for more complex files.
• You help further standardize and automate accounting processes, internal controls, and closing procedures.
• You contribute to finance transformation and system projects.
• You work cross-functionally with, among others, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Payroll, Legal, and HR.

Your profile

• You hold a Bachelor or Master in Accounting, Finance or a similar field.
• You have at least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with a clear international component.
• Experience within audit or public accounting is a strong asset.
• You have experience with statutory reporting and financial reporting.
• You are familiar with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
• You have good knowledge of local GAAP and US GAAP.
• You have experience with intercompany accounting and foreign currency accounting.
• You have experience with external auditors and accounting providers.
• You have experience in guiding or coaching accounting professionals.
• You are analytically strong, accurate, and organizationally strong.
• You maintain an overview of multiple entities, countries, and deadlines.
• You speak and write fluent English.
• Knowledge of Dutch is a strong plus.
