Jewelry CAD Designer – Rhino Department Design / Product Development Reports To Jewelry Design / Product Development Manager Job Purpose To create and develop detailed 3D jewelry designs using Rhino 3D, translating creative concepts, sketches, and 2D artwork into accurate and production-ready CAD models while ensuring the final designs meet aesthetic, technical, and manufacturing requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed 3D jewelry models using Rhino based on sketches, 2D drawings, concepts, and design briefs.

Translate 2D jewelry designs into accurate and technically feasible 3D CAD models.

Create and modify jewelry models according to design requirements, product specifications, and manufacturing constraints.

Ensure designs maintain the intended proportions, dimensions, symmetry, details, and overall aesthetic appearance.

Prepare CAD models suitable for 3D printing, prototyping, casting, and manufacturing.

Apply strong understanding of jewelry construction, including settings, stones, prongs, bezels, pavé, channels, hinges, clasps, and other jewelry components.

Review designs to ensure manufacturability and technical feasibility before submitting them for production.

Make required modifications based on feedback from Design, Product Development, Production, and Quality teams.

Work closely with jewelry designers to convert creative concepts into technically accurate CAD models.

Interpret technical drawings and 2D artwork and convert them into 3D jewelry models.

Maintain accuracy and consistency across collections, designs, and product specifications.

Support the development of new collections by creating multiple design variations and adaptations.

Prepare and organize CAD files according to company standards and ensure proper file naming and version control.

Coordinate with production teams to resolve CAD-related manufacturing issues.

Modify existing CAD models for different sizes, dimensions, stone combinations, and product variations.

Conduct quality checks on completed CAD models before releasing them for prototyping or production.

Stay updated on new jewelry design techniques, CAD tools, and industry trends.

Required Technical Skills Good practical experience in Rhino 3D, particularly for jewelry design.

Good understanding of 2D drawing and design principles.

Good knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop is preferred.

Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree in Applied Arts, Art Education, or a related design discipline.

Candidates with an educational background in Jewelry Design, Metalwork, Sculpture, Product Design, or similar fields are preferred.

Experience 0–2 years of relevant experience in jewelry CAD design using Rhino.

Experience within a jewelry manufacturing or jewelry design environment is highly preferred.

Fresh graduates with strong Rhino skills, an excellent design portfolio, and relevant jewelry training may also be considered.
