For our Seed Research Team at KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA in Einbeck (Lower Saxony), we are looking for a Scientist Seed Research (m/f/d) in permanent full-time employment at the earliest possible date.

Your Tasks
- Investigation, quantification, and modeling of the physiological, genetic, and environmental factors that influence germination and field emergence of relevant crop species.
- Development of innovative methods and testing systems for predicting, evaluating, and improving seed quality, vigor, and field emergence capacity under different environmental conditions.
- Conception and implementation of scientific research projects in the areas of seed biology, germination physiology, vigor, stress tolerance, and early plant development.
- Generation of new scientific insights into the physiological and molecular foundations of seed quality.
- Transfer of scientific findings into practice-relevant applications to optimize seed production, processing, and technology.
- Initiation, coordination, and supervision of internal as well as external research cooperations in relevant subject areas.
- Monitoring of scientific publications and patent documents as well as technical developments in the field of seed research.
- Implementation of innovative technologies, analytical procedures, and laboratory platforms into applied practice.
- Identification and validation of physiological, biochemical, and molecular markers for the classification or improvement of seed quality to support breeding and variety development.
- Statistical evaluation of experimental data, interpretation of scientific results, and communication of findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Organization and coordination of laboratory activities including equipment and resource management, laboratory compliance, and adherence to relevant quality and safety standards.
Your Profile
- Successfully completed university degree in agricultural sciences, plant sciences, biology, or a comparable field; a doctorate is an advantage.
- Sound knowledge and practical research experience in the areas of seed biology, germination physiology, seed quality, or plant physiology.
- Experience in the development, validation, and implementation of scientific testing procedures as well as their transfer into routine applications.
- Good knowledge of modern analytical and physiological methods in seed and plant research.
- Knowledge of statistical experimental planning, data analysis, and experimental design; experience with statistical software (e.g., R) is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge in molecular biology, genetics, or Omics technologies is desirable.
- Interest in data-driven approaches, digital technologies, and AI-supported methods in research and development.
- Strong scientific curiosity, initiative, and a structured, result-oriented way of working.
- High teamwork and communication skills as well as enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Very good English skills in speaking and writing; German skills are an advantage.
