Postdoc in Computational Neuroscience & Brain-inspired AI

Tasks

The goal of the research work is to develop and study brain-like feed-forward and recurrent network architectures in semi-supervised and unsupervised learning problems.

Your tasks are to study relevant literature, design and simulate neural network models, analyze/interpret results, and benchmark brain-like architectures against conventional machine learning methods. You are also expected to actively participate in academic discussions with supervisors at KTH and write scientific articles.

Qualifications

Requirements

• A completed doctoral degree or a foreign degree assessed to correspond to a doctoral degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than when the employment decision is made.
• As an applicant, you should have good programming skills and the ability to develop scalable code for running on supercomputers.
• You should also have fundamental knowledge in computational neuroscience and machine learning, especially regarding neural networks.
• It is necessary that you are well-versed in and well-informed about issues regarding diversity and equal opportunities, with a particular focus on gender equality.
• Applicants must have experience in publishing academic work and good knowledge of English, as well as a good ability to express themselves in speech and writing, as this is required in daily work.

Meritorious

• At the final application date, no more than three years have passed since the doctoral degree or a foreign degree assessed to correspond to a doctoral degree was obtained.
• We would like you to have previous experience in developing and simulating both spiking and non-spiking neural networks with local learning rules.
• It is meritorious if you have good collaborative skills and can also demonstrate independence in research. Pedagogical experience is appreciated.
• Knowledge of and proficiency in MPI and GPU programming and experience in running large-scale computational simulations constitute desirable qualifications.

About the employment
