Tasks Global food systems contribute to several of today's major societal challenges, including chronic diseases, greenhouse gas emissions, environmental degradation, and increasing economic costs. New innovations in the food sector, combined with digitalization and automation, are changing agricultural and food chains by affecting how we produce, process, package, supply, and distribute food. At the same time, dietary habits are a crucial factor for human health and environmental sustainability. The transition to sustainable food systems requires addressing complex challenges within both physical and communicative infrastructure as well as individual behavior, social norms, and policy frameworks. We are seeking postdocs with a strong background in and an interest in network-based control systems, mathematics, machine learning, as well as applications within food systems. The project will focus on the analysis and regulation of food systems, with research questions such as how AI-based methods can be used to (1) model and predict complex decision-making processes of interconnected actors in food systems, (2) capture the interaction between producers, consumers, decision-makers, and technology providers in changing food ecosystems, and (3) design measures that promote sustainable dietary habits, reduce environmental impact, and strengthen system resilience. The tasks for the postdocs include: Conducting innovative research within the framework of the postdoc position at KTH FOOD. Publishing research results in high-quality scientific journals, including leading perspective articles on sustainability within food innovations, as well as presenting the research at conferences.
