System Engineer (m/f/d) Monitoring (IT System Administrator)

Your Tasks

As a System Engineer (m/f/d) Monitoring, you will work on the further development of our monitoring landscape, support error analysis, and help ensure that relevant service and system metrics become understandable, reliable, and usable.

• You develop and optimize monitoring sensors and checks to specifically expand our monitoring solutions.
• You support colleagues and customers in analyzing and resolving malfunctions in monitoring systems.
• You design dashboards and reporting tools so that relevant service and system metrics are presented transparently and understandably.
• You regularly check our monitoring systems and tools for up-to-dateness, performance, and optimization potential.
• You perform performance analyses and capacity assessments, recognize bottlenecks early, and derive suitable measures.
• You work closely with adjacent technical teams, e.g., from the areas of network, system administration, and infrastructure.
• You observe new technologies and monitoring approaches and evaluate their added value for our services and processes.
• You plan and coordinate maintenance work on monitoring systems with the goal of reducing service interruptions to a minimum.
• Optionally, you support the selection, conception, and implementation of monitoring solutions in customer projects.

Your Profile

• You have completed IT training, an IT degree, or comparable practical experience.
• You bring experience with at least one monitoring solution, e.g., PRTG, Icinga, or Nagios.
• You have practical experience with Windows Servers and Linux. Ideally, you have already worked with ITSM tools.
• You are familiar with IT infrastructure topics such as switching, routing, firewall, computing, hypervisor, or cloud.
• Basic knowledge of REST API, WMI, and SNMP is an advantage.
• You work analytically, structurally, and solution-oriented.
• You communicate clearly, enjoy working in a team, and bring a high level of customer orientation.
• You have good written and spoken English skills.
