About Korrency

Korrency is a cross-border remittance company. Through our mobile app, African diaspora customers in Canada, the UK and Europe send money home to Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and other African countries quickly and safely. Korrency Exchange Inc. is registered with FINTRAC as a money services business and with the Bank of Canada as a payment service provider. Most of our team works remotely from Nigeria.

The role

Every transfer a customer sends has to be funded and paid out on time. You will make sure it is. You will manage our daily cash and foreign exchange position across banks and payout partners, source FX at good rates, and keep every movement of money reconciled and controlled. As our volumes grow, we expect this role to grow into Treasury Manager, with responsibility for treasury policy, partner relationships and a small team.

What you will do

  • Monitor balances every day across our bank accounts and payout partners in CAD, GBP, EUR, NGN and other currencies, and forecast funding needs by corridor.
  • Prefund payout partners and move money between accounts on time, within approved limits and approval controls.
  • Source foreign exchange: get quotes from liquidity providers, carry out approved conversions, and record rates and costs.
  • Track market rates and our margins by corridor, and support daily rate setting.
  • Reconcile treasury activity daily, matching every funding, conversion and payout to our ledger, and investigate any breaks.
  • Produce daily and weekly treasury reports: cash position, FX exposure, partner balances and margin by corridor.
  • Work with banks, FX providers and payout partners to resolve funding and settlement issues.
  • Help write and maintain treasury policies and controls, including limits, approvals and exposure to each counterparty.

What we are looking for

  • 4 to 6 years in treasury, FX, settlement or finance operations at a bank, fintech, payments, remittance or FX business.
  • Hands-on experience managing liquidity or prefunding across more than one currency.
  • Good understanding of FX markets, including how the naira market works.
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets modelling and reporting skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail. You treat every money movement as if it were your own.
  • Calm, quick decision-making when payouts are time-sensitive.
  • B.Sc. or HND in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field, with NYSC completed or exempted.
  • Your own laptop, reliable internet and power backup for full-time remote work.

Nice to have

  • Experience with remittance payout partners, payment service providers or bureaux de change.
  • Knowledge of CBN foreign exchange rules.
  • CFA, ACCA, ICAN or ACI Dealing Certificate.
  • Basic SQL or experience pulling data from a platform database.
  • Experience managing or training junior staff.

About the engagement

  • Independent contractor engagement, full-time hours, fully remote.
  • ₦600,000 to ₦900,000 per month, depending on experience, paid monthly in Naira. As a contractor, you invoice monthly and handle your own tax and pension.
  • Regular overlap with Canadian (Toronto) business hours, as payouts run across time zones.

Korrency welcomes applications from people of every background.
