For our location in Düsseldorf, we are looking for a Structural Engineer at the earliest possible date.

Design: Static and fatigue design of the steel construction components of port mobile cranes, AGVs, as well as other products of the BL MHC, taking into account cost, weight, and installation aspects.

Calculation: Independent performance of stability calculations, complex FE calculations, as well as timely provision of static calculations for all steel construction components as a basis for subsequent development steps.

Quality Assurance: Review and approval of steel construction drawings as well as ensuring compliance with national and international standards, regulations, and guidelines.

Steel Construction Design: Responsibility for the structural and production-ready design of the steel construction.

Collaboration: Close coordination with internal departments such as Design, Sales, Production, Customer Service, and Project Management, as well as with external partners; additionally, participation in research projects and standardization committees.

Education: Successfully completed studies in the field of Civil Engineering with a focus on steel construction and statics or a comparable qualification; ideally supplemented by completed training as an International Welding Engineer.

Personality: Systematic, conceptual, and precise way of working as well as a friendly, confident demeanor; furthermore, high level of performance and commitment, flexibility regarding project requirements, and willingness to undertake occasional business trips.

Experience: Several years of experience is desirable, especially sound knowledge in the areas of fatigue strength and stability; for committed university graduates, we are happy to offer the opportunity for intensive induction.

Expertise: Knowledge of welding technology as well as sound knowledge of current technical regulations and relevant standards in steel construction; due to our international orientation, we require very good written and spoken English skills.

IT Competence: Confident handling of common calculation software such as ANSYS and R-STAB, ideally experience with KRASTA; additionally, ideally good CAD skills in Inventor as well as very good PC user skills in Office; initial knowledge in SAP and Teamcenter is desirable.
