Technology & Data Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a cross-functional pod including developers, product, and business intelligence, including 1-on-1s, mentoring, and performance management
• Own the engineering roadmap in partnership with product and business stakeholders, translating regulatory and commercial requirements into delivery plans
• Maintain and improve reliability of systems handling automated financial transactions, including incident response and root-cause resolution
• Lead cloud infrastructure strategy, including cost auditing and resource optimization
• Establish and uphold structured practices for technical documentation and decision-making, covering system design, regulatory considerations, and peer review
• Partner with compliance and legal stakeholders to ensure engineering delivery meets applicable financial services regulatory requirements
• Guide data-informed prioritization by working closely with the business intelligence function on what gets measured and reported
• Stay hands-on with the codebase and architecture, stepping in directly on technical problems rather than only delegating
• Manage relationships with IT-related vendors, including evaluation, onboarding, and ongoing coordination

Qualifications

• 6-8+ years of software engineering experience, including experience in a people-management or tech-lead capacity
• Experience owning production systems that handle financial or transactional data, with a track record of improving system stability and reducing incident rates
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and cost optimization, ideally including a cloud migration
• Experience introducing or sustaining structured engineering documentation practices within a team
• Comfortable managing a cross-functional team spanning engineering, product, and data/analytics, not just a single-discipline engineering team
• Strong stakeholder management skills, able to work directly with product, business, and compliance functions
• Background in fintech, lending, or another regulated financial services environment preferred
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 or other information security management standards preferred
• Familiarity with fintech P2P lending regulation a plus
