The Swiss Komax Group is the market and technology leader in automated wire processing. It offers its customers, who primarily come from the Automotive, Industrial, and Aerospace market segments, a wide variety of fully and semi-automatic machines, custom-built systems, as well as quality assurance modules and testing devices. As a member of the Komax Group, Komax SLE, with currently approx. 200 employees in Grafenau, specializes in machines and systems for the automated production of data cables in the Automotive segment. Additionally, coating laboratories and measuring systems for the quality monitoring of end products manufactured on Komax systems are produced at this location. Your area of responsibility

• Technical and disciplinary leadership of employees and management of the software department
• Definition and further development of the software architecture in Komax SLE and within the Business Unit
• Structural design, implementation, and compliance with development processes and methodologies in the software department
• Continuous improvement and further development of software development processes to increase efficiency and quality
• Definition, implementation, and maintenance of the machine control platform
• Implementation of the product roadmap and release management in the software area
• Ensuring software quality and compliance with development standards in customer projects as well as development projects
• Execution of the operational planning of programming tasks and adherence to deadlines in projects
• Cooperation and regular exchange/consultation with other departments and stakeholders internally as well as within the Komax Group, as well as cooperation with external partners (universities, development offices)
• Ensuring compliance with legal and corporate regulations in the software department (Machinery Directive/Machinery Ordinance)
• Ensuring the documentation of knowledge in the software department

Your profile

• Successfully completed studies in the field of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering with a focus on software development and/or comparable training
• Several years of experience in programming and in leading programming teams/departments in mechanical, device, and plant engineering is mandatory
• Very good knowledge in programming software in high-level languages (C#; C++), PLC (structured text/TwinCat3), optionally image processing (openCV)
• Ideally experience and knowledge in the standardization and industrialization of machines, systems, and devices
• Competence in agile development methods
• Design-to-Cost knowledge, initial experience in systematic cost optimization
• Initial experience with Lean Management methods is desirable
• High level of initiative and sense of responsibility
• Leadership and decision-making competence
• Strategic thinking and entrepreneurial action
• High problem-solving ability
• Good written and spoken English skills
• Willingness to travel internationally
