For this purpose, we are looking for a strategic purchasing personality who, with experience, negotiation skills, and technical understanding, will shape our purchasing strategy, implement potentials, and make processes more efficient – thereby creating sustainable added value for the company.

Your Tasks

Strategic responsibility for production material in mechanical engineering

• Development and implementation of a global, holistic commodity group strategy to achieve purchasing goals
• Conducting national and international procurement market analyses to identify new potentials
• Proactive risk management to ensure a stable supply chain

Supplier Management & Negotiations

• Establishment and maintenance of strategic supplier partnerships and networks
• Conducting and managing tenders as well as price and contract negotiations
• Preparation and conclusion of framework agreements, quality, and logistics agreements

Optimization & Efficiency Increase

• Continuous optimization of purchasing and procurement processes
• Initiation and implementation of measures for cost reduction and efficiency increase
• Support of Value Engineering projects for the further development of the commodity group

Project Coordination & Collaboration

• Close cooperation with internal specialist departments and external partners
• Management and implementation of purchasing and optimization projects
• Active participation in cross-departmental initiatives for strategic further development

Professional & Personal Requirements

Professional Experience & Education

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification (Master's preferred) or additional specialist training and many years of experience in a technical field
• At least 3 years of professional experience in the strategic procurement of a manufacturing company (ideally heavy machinery manufacturing)

Specialist Knowledge & Competencies

• Advanced knowledge of international procurement and contract law
• Demonstrable success in global procurement
• Business fluent English skills
• General, global willingness to travel
• Experience with SAP R/3 or S/4 Hana (MM module) as well as MS Office
