POSITION OVERVIEW
KIPP Indy Public Schools is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Elementary School Math Content Expert Teacher for grades 3-5 to join our team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, engaging math instruction to elementary students, helping them build a strong foundation in mathematical skills and concepts. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Indiana Academic Standards for Mathematics and be committed to fostering a love of learning in young students.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement rigorous, standards-aligned math lessons for grades 3-5 that engage students and foster a strong understanding of foundational mathematical concepts, including number sense, operations, geometry, measurement, and data analysis.
- Use age-appropriate interventions and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners, including those who require additional support and enrichment.
- Regularly assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, analyze data, and use results to inform instruction and adjust teaching practices.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth in mathematical thinking.
- Hold high expectations for all students, regardless of their current level, and provide the necessary support to ensure their success.
- Implement hands-on activities and real-world applications to make math concepts relatable and engaging for students.
- Communicate regularly with families about student progress, providing strategies to support learning at home.
- Collaborate with academic coaches and other teachers to align curriculum, improve instructional practices, and share best practices for math instruction.
- Embrace feedback and work with academic coaches to continuously improve instructional techniques and professional development.
- Take ownership of your own professional growth by seeking out learning opportunities and staying current with best practices in math instruction.
- Participate actively in ongoing coaching, observation and feedback cycles, team learning, and required professional development; implement feedback and agreed-upon action steps to strengthen instructional practice.

EXPECTATIONS
- Arrive at school by 8:10 a.m.
- Attend professional development, including summer onboarding.
- Track and analyze student data regularly and attend team meetings.
- Fulfill all expectations outlined in the KIPP Employee Handbook.
- Valid Indiana teaching license or applying for reciprocity with a valid out-of-state license (required).
- Bachelor’s degree in elementary education or a related field (preferred) .
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience (preferred).
- Strong understanding of foundational literacy and child development (required).
- Proven record of fostering academic success in diverse, underserved communities (preferred).
- Experience in using data to guide instruction and improve student outcomes (preferred).

- Pass a criminal background check, as required by law (required).
Licensed teacher starting at $50,000
