We are looking for a Contract Lawyer (m/f/d) in the area of Compliance & Law for the Sales and Contract Law department at our Dortmund location, effective immediately.

Your tasks

• Reviewing and negotiating international framework agreements and individual projects in plant engineering with global customers
• Resolving legal issues of international trade, commercial, and contract law
• Legal expertise in project execution and service for international projects
• Supporting subsidiaries in corporate and contract law matters
• Implementing process optimization in risk management and contract controlling
• Supporting and coordinating the management of judicial and arbitration proceedings at home and abroad, including the development of defense and enforcement strategies in cooperation with specialist departments
• Preparation and legal assessment of litigation strategies, pleadings, and settlement negotiations
• Supporting conceptual Claim Management and reporting to Group Audit
• Advising Sales/Project Managers of a Market Zone on all project-related questions
• Ensuring interdisciplinary training of all employees regarding legal topics
• Continuous updating of all legal areas together with colleagues from the legal department in the sense of a holistic advisory service

Your profile

• Fully qualified lawyer (Volljurist/in) with advanced examinations
• Experience in the legal department of an industrial company with a focus on commercial and trade law or comparable practical training
• Very good understanding of and interest in economic and technical contexts
• Experience in processing and coordinating judicial or arbitration proceedings, ideally in an international environment
• Strong negotiation skills and strategic thinking in conflict management
• Business fluent English, further language skills an advantage
• Intercultural experience
• Confident handling of common MS Office applications and openness to E-Tools
• Willingness for occasional business trips at home and abroad
• Strong communication skills, high persuasiveness, and goal-oriented action
