To perform MRI examinations and other specialized imaging procedures as an Allied Health Professional at an intermediate to advanced level. Demonstrates advanced clinical competency and autonomy in MRI practice, ensuring safe, effective and high-quality patient care. Provides supervision, mentorship and leadership within the MRI section while contributing to service improvement, education and quality initiatives.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
A. SPECIFIC (80%)
- Perform routine and advanced MRI examinations according to departmental protocols and clinical standards.
- Ensure compliance with MRI safety requirements, patient screening procedures and quality assurance standards.
- Maintain high standards of patient care, image quality and service excellence.
- Participate in equipment quality control, maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
- Coach, supervise and train staff and students.
- Coordinate with radiologists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement, research and evidence-based practice initiatives.
- Review and update SOPs, SWIs and work processes when required.
- Maintain proper records, inventory and equipment management within the MRI section.
- Assist in the management of the MRI section and act in the absence of the Section Lead when required.
B. GENERAL (20%)
- Conduct education and training activities for staff and students.
- Participate in departmental and inter-professional projects.
- Support audit, research and performance improvement initiatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, patient safety and operational excellence.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Reporting Officer, Department Manager or Head of Department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
A. EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
- Recognised Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
- Minimum 3-5 years of radiography experience in an acute hospital setting.
- Minimum 2 years of recent MRI experience with demonstrated independent scanning competency.
- Knowledge of MRI safety practices, contrast administration and quality assurance processes.
- Competent in image quality assessment and troubleshooting of imaging equipment.
- Experience in advanced MRI applications and staff supervision will be an advantage.
PROFESSIONAL LICENCE
- Registered with Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC).
- Valid Practising Certificate.
- Radiation Worker Licence (where applicable).
