Description A leading energy company with strong asset-backed trading is expanding its bunker trading business in Singapore and is looking to hire an experienced Bunker Trader focused on sales. The role will be responsible for developing and managing customer relationships, growing physical bunker sales, and identifying new commercial opportunities across the regional marine fuel market.

Your tasks

Reporting to Head of Bunker in HQ. The role will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of bunker customers across Singapore and Asia, with a strong focus on new business development, customer acquisition and revenue growth. The role will manage the end-to-end sales cycle, including customer origination, pricing, negotiation, contracting and relationship management, while monitoring bunker market movements, competitor pricing, supply availability and customer demand to identify commercial opportunities. The trader will work closely with Trading, Supply, Operations, Credit and Finance teams to optimise sourcing and physical deliveries, manage customer exposure and ensure efficient execution, while contributing to overall sales margins, volumes and P&L performance.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Business or an equivalent qualification with at least 5 years of experience in bunker trading, bunker sales or marine fuel trading, with a strong understanding of physical bunker markets including VLSFO, HSFO and MGO. Candidates should have an established network among shipowners, ship operators, charterers or other marine fuel customers in Singapore and Asia, together with a proven track record in business development, customer acquisition and commercial negotiation. Strong knowledge of bunker pricing, supply dynamics and physical delivery processes, combined with strong communication, analytical and relationship-management skills, is essential.
