Engineering Manager
Job Description
Responsible for the testing & commissioning of the process system
Person-in-charge for the planning, directing, follow-up and implementation of the commissioning and testing works
Coordinates with Project Management, KCS partners, Client and Client representatives.
Manages the T&C teams, whom are responsible doing T&C of the different subsystems: furnace-boiler, FGC, Power Island, etc.
Defines the critical interfaces and chronology of the T&C
Review of the construction completion reports, prepared by the construction team
Responsible to ensure the proper commissioning documentation is available for review, implementation.
Ensures that the proper T&C documentation is prepared, signed off and filed
Ensures that the HSE-rules are adhered to during testing & commissioning with the assistance of the HSE-team
Ensures that the commissioning & testing activities are adequately communicated to all parties on site and that the required HSE-measures are taken
Provide clarifications to customer / 3rd parties and to attend meetings
Liaises with notified body for safety, statutory testing and other inspections
Responsible for the overall management of the performance testing of the process plant
Liaises on all matters related to design, construction, QA/QC team in case of issues
Liaises with the Operation team in terms of provision of consumables and advise on the manpower required during plant operation
Assist in the operator training
Overlook, manage the overall snag list for process machinery based on the input from the different T&C teams
Responsible for progress reporting: planning and resources for conducting process commissioning, with due regard for HSE and mitigation measures for T&C works, status of completion of snag items
Job Requirements
- Engineer in electro - mechanical engineering or equivalent by experience
- To be in possession (or to be of any necessary certification for this work: e.g. safety certificates, confined space, working @ height, etc (or to be obtained at start of work)
- Minimum 10 years of experience (of which at least 7 years in a commissioning lead or manager role) in the testing & commissioning of - Waste to Energy (WTE) plants - Biomass plants - Power plants
- Strong practical site experience related to testing and commissioning
- Proven experience in leading commissioning teams and managing complex commissioning scopes
- Experience with WTE-performance testing
- Strong familiarity with engineering standards, documentation and commissioning workflows
- Strong practical understanding of combustion system, boiler, flue gas cleaning, utilities, E&I, DCS systems
- Strong diagnostic and trouble-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office
- Able to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, troubleshoot plant behaviour and drive decisions under time pressure
- Able to work in a dynamic environment, anticipating issues, communicating clear instructions to the teams, set priorities and taking decisions to progress the works in a swift and safe manner
