Supermarket Manager

Responsibilities:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the supermarket. Supervise, schedule, and coordinate supermarket staff and ensure effective performance. Monitor sales activities and implement strategies to achieve sales targets. Manage inventory levels, stock replenishment, and product availability. Conduct regular stock counts and investigate shortages, damages, and discrepancies. Ensure products are properly displayed, priced, labeled, and organized. Monitor cashiers and ensure accurate cash handling and POS transactions. Handle customer complaints and ensure high standards of customer service. Coordinate with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries, pricing, and product availability. Monitor product expiry dates and ensure proper rotation of stock. Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly sales and operational reports. Monitor operating expenses and support effective cost control. Ensure the supermarket maintains proper hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards. Prevent and monitor stock losses, theft, and other operational risks. Ensure company policies and standard operating procedures are followed. Train, motivate, and evaluate staff performance. Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and customer preferences. Coordinate promotions, discounts, and merchandising activities. Resolve operational issues promptly and report major management concerns. Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and business regulations.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree, HND, or OND in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Accounting, or a related field. Proven years of experience in supermarket, retail, or store management. Strong knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, and merchandising. Experience managing cashiers and other retail staff. Good understanding of POS systems and basic accounting procedures. Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems. Ability to analyze sales and stock reports. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure. High level of integrity and accountability. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
