Inventory Officer
Responsibilities:
Monitor and maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing inventory. Receive, inspect, and verify goods against purchase orders, invoices, and delivery documents. Record stock movements and update inventory management systems promptly. Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile results with inventory records. Monitor stock levels and initiate replenishment requests when necessary. Identify damaged, expired, missing, slow-moving, or obsolete stock and report accordingly. Ensure proper storage, labeling, arrangement, and handling of inventory. Issue materials and products to authorized departments based on approved requests. Maintain accurate documentation for receipts, transfers, returns, and dispatches. Investigate inventory discrepancies and assist in resolving stock-related issues. Work closely with the Procurement, Warehouse, Finance, and Operations teams. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports. Monitor stock usage and identify opportunities to reduce waste and inventory losses. Ensure inventory is stored securely and protected from damage or theft. Assist with periodic audits and inventory verification exercises. Ensure compliance with company inventory policies and procedures. Perform other inventory-related duties assigned by management.
Requirements:
HND or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven years of experience in inventory management, stock control, warehousing, or a related role. Good knowledge of inventory control and stock management procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software. Strong numerical and analytical skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Good record-keeping and documentation skills. Ability to identify and resolve stock discrepancies. Good communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of FIFO/FEFO inventory principles is an advantage. Professional certification in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Inventory Management is an added advantage.
