Role Description The Panel Beating Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Kampala. The specialist will repair and restore vehicle bodywork, including straightening frames, reshaping panels, fixing dents, and preparing surfaces for painting. Daily tasks include assessing damage, removing and refitting body parts, using appropriate tools and equipment, and ensuring repairs meet safety and quality standards. The role also involves accurate job estimation, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, collaborating with mechanics and painters, and communicating clearly with supervisors and colleagues to meet deadlines. The specialist is expected to follow company procedures and adhere to all health and safety regulations. Qualifications
Strong skills in panel beating, bodywork restoration, dent repair, and frame straightening. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and measuring devices for automotive body repair. Ability to assess damage, interpret repair instructions, and prepare surfaces for painting and finishing. Knowledge of automotive safety standards, workshop safety practices, and proper handling of materials and equipment. Minimum of a technical certificate or diploma in automotive engineering, panel beating, or a related field. Previous experience in an auto body shop or garage, preferably in panel beating or collision repair. Good communication skills, reliability, and ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
