Job purpose
Provide specialist engineering expertise for the design, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, reliability, integrity, and optimization of rotating equipment across ADNOC offshore assets. Ensure equipment performance, availability, reliability, and compliance with ADNOC standards, international codes, and industry best practices while supporting safe and uninterrupted offshore production operations.
Key responsibilities
Rotating equipment engineering
Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for rotating equipment including:
Gas turbines
Steam turbines
Centrifugal and reciprocating compressors
Pumps
Blowers
Fans
Gearboxes
Mechanical seals
Couplings and bearings
Develop equipment specifications, datasheets, technical evaluations, and procurement packages for new projects and modifications.
Provide technical support during FEED, EPC, commissioning, start-up and operational phases of offshore projects.
Reliability and performance management
Monitor equipment reliability and identify performance improvement opportunities.
Lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and reliability studies.
Review vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis and condition monitoring reports.
Recommend corrective actions to improve equipment availability and reduce maintenance costs.
Maintenance and troubleshooting
Support maintenance teams in troubleshooting critical rotating equipment failures.
Review maintenance strategies and preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
Recommend equipment upgrades, retrofits and life-extension initiatives.
Ensure equipment maintenance aligns with OEM recommendations and ADNOC standards.
Project support
Participate in technical bid evaluations and vendor selection.
Review vendor documents, drawings and engineering calculations.
Witness FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), SAT (Site Acceptance Test), performance tests and commissioning activities.
Ensure equipment compliance with project specifications and international standards.
Technical governance
Ensure compliance with:
API standards
ISO standards
ASME codes
ADNOC engineering standards
International offshore regulations
Participate in HAZOP, SIL, risk assessment and technical integrity reviews.
Continuous improvement
Identify and evaluate new technologies for rotating equipment.
Develop engineering best practices and lessons learned.
Mentor junior engineers and provide specialist technical guidance to operations and maintenance teams.
Minimum qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Master's degree is advantageous.
Chartered engineer or relevant professional certification preferred.
Experience
15+ years of experience in rotating equipment engineering.
Minimum 5 years in offshore oil and gas facilities.
