Project description

The project is a major infrastructure programme for a mixed-use development aiming to be a global landmark recognized for its unique vision and position as an authentic destination in Riyadh. The community will be a distinct, self-sustaining hub for Riyadh offering several iconic assets. KBR will provide project management consultancy services in project planning, controls, design and engineering management, and implementation of the development and early works packages.

The role

Reporting to the KBR Project Director and responsible for the oversight and management of the health safety, environmental and security performance of the programme.

Main responsibilities

In conjunction with the client, develop the Health, Safety, Environmental & Security management policy and issue guidelines to design consultants and contractors

Review Health, Safety, Environmental & Security plans and procedures prepared by each design consultant and contractor for compliance with project Health, Safety and Environmental & Security policy

Support the design consultants and contractors in the implementation of Health, Safety, Environment & Security policies and procedures

Monitor the performance of design consultants and contractors with respect to Health, Safety, Environment & Security

Provide leadership and direction to managers and professional staff within the programme team on Health, Safety, Environment & Security related matters

Prepare formal audit plans and carry out audits accordingly

Interface with regulatory HSE bodies

Collation and reporting of Health, Safety, Environment & Security statistics

In conjunction with consultants and contractors develop and implement action plans to improve Health, Safety, Environment & Security performance

Ensure compliance of KBR team with KBR internal HSE requirements

Experience, skills and knowledge

BSc, engineering, architecture or equivalent

Minimum 15 years overall experience

Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role

Minimum 5 years working experience in Middle East

NEBOSH General Certificate

Excellent report writing and communication skills

Experience of working with a multi-nationality team

Experienced user of MS Office

Arabic speaking advantageous

Experience of major projects in the Middle East preferred

Full driving license
