Project description
The project is a major infrastructure programme for a mixed-use development aiming to be a global landmark recognized for its unique vision and position as an authentic destination in Riyadh. The community will be a distinct, self-sustaining hub for Riyadh offering several iconic assets. KBR will provide project management consultancy services in project planning, controls, design and engineering management, and implementation of the development and early works packages.
The role
Reporting directly to the Senior Design Manager.
Prepare and produce the different trades of drawings, shop drawings, details for architectural, civil, structural and industrial disciplines using the latest updates and versions of computer aided design (CAD) systems and software.
Support engineers and designers in all disciplines through a variety of tasks including proposal drawings, shop drawings, red marks and sketches.
Main responsibilities
Understand the uses of drawing levels, reference files, and CAD tools.
Prepare all architectural/civil drawings and electrical/plumbing by AutoCAD software.
Have the capability to make construction drawings (IFC) and presentation drawings.
Interact with engineers to quickly and accurately create drawings for the construction processes.
Update the drawings according to the information given by the field survey engineers.
Produce drawings that are centred on written instructions, calculations and equations provided by the engineers.
Maintain drawing files and coordinate document contribution to customer, job site, and vendors.
Fill in technical details using drawings, rough sketches, specifications, and calculations made by engineers and surveyors.
Perform other duties and miscellaneous responsibilities like preparing materials submittal as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Confirm that the scope of work (infrastructure design) to achieve the project objectives is understood and agreed by all relevant parties and that scope gaps are identified and addressed with the client and relevant parties.
Experience, skills and knowledge
Minimum of 5 years overall experience.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
Minimum of 3 years working in the Middle East.
A working understanding of engineering design principles in architectural, structural and infrastructure design disciplines.
Must be familiar with the design manuals and criteria applicable to development projects and how to use them to determine design parameters.
Ability to think spatially and reason independently.
Proficient in AutoCAD.
Good working knowledge of MS Excel and electronic document management systems.
