Safety Officer

KBR is looking for a safety officer to carry out safety inspections of equipment, tools, and working conditions to ensure the safety of workers engaged in oil and gas facilities.

Responsibilities:

Inspect equipment, tools, and working conditions to ensure the safety of workers engaged in oil and gas facilities. Inspect safety belts, ladders, ropes, rubber goods, and tools and replace those not meeting safety requirements.

Observe crews at work and report laxity in safety precautions, such as failure to use goggles, rubber gloves, and other safety devices.

Examine conditions of ditches and tunnels and recommend use of braces to prevent cave-ins endangering workers.

Investigate accidents to determine causes and devise preventive measures.

Instruct workers in the use of safety equipment and safe work methods.

Ensure compliance with all safety procedures.

Encourage reporting of unsafe acts and conditions.

Comply with all SHE procedures prior to commencement and during work.

Qualifications:

Minimum 8 years’ experience in oil and gas maintenance – High school.

Minimum 6 years’ experience in oil and gas maintenance – Diploma.

Strong technical understanding of maintenance jobs related to safety.

Well organized and proactive with excellent communication skills.

Proven leadership skills with large organizations.

Maturity of judgment under pressure and ability to resolve problems.

Strategic management skills.
