Role overview
We are looking for an Instrument and Controls (I&C) Lead for an upcoming project. This role will work with our team of engineers to identify and define solutions that reduce risk and grow installed production capacity. It will provide I&C support for site operations while ensuring safe and effective operations through risk management, addressing questions, and minor modification activities.
The I&C Lead Engineer will provide immediate front-line support to Operations and Maintenance teams to resolve minor issues and escalate more significant issues to the Central Engineering Team. This role will report to the Area Engineering Support Team Lead and have I&C Engineers as direct reports.
Rotation: 28/28
Responsibilities
- Optimize I&C systems day to day to ensure safe, stable, and efficient process control, including loop tuning, alarm management, and safety instrumented system (SIS) performance monitoring.
- Identify production vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities to support the production forecast and grow installed production capacity (IPC).
- Ensure control systems are operated within their design and operating envelopes. Report, risk-assess, and manage any deviations through operational risk assessment processes.
- Lead or support root cause investigations, such as 5 Whys and fault tree analysis, for I&C-related process safety incidents, production losses, and product quality issues that exceed defined limits.
- Prioritize I&C vulnerabilities based on risk and production impact, focusing corrective actions on the highest-priority issues.
- Lead continuous improvement projects involving instrumentation, automation, and control systems. Promote a continuous improvement philosophy and engage site teams in improvement initiatives.
