Karate Nation is a growing Martial Arts company dedicated to promoting the benefits of Karate to children, young adults, and adults.

As we continue to expand our programmes across Singapore, we are looking for a passionate, skilled, and energetic Part-Time Karate Instructor to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Karate practitioner who enjoys working with people, has a passion for teaching, and wants to develop as a coach within a growing Martial Arts organisation.

The role is initially part-time, with approximately 30 coaching hours per month, but there is potential to increase coaching hours and progress into a larger or full-time coaching role as Karate Nation continues to grow.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Karate Instructor at Karate Nation, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering engaging and structured Karate classes in line with the JKA curriculum
  • Creating a positive, safe, and encouraging learning environment
  • Teaching students of different ages and abilities
  • Developing students' Karate skills, confidence, discipline, and character
  • Managing your classes independently while maintaining Karate Nation's standards
  • Providing appropriate guidance and feedback to students
  • Maintaining professional communication with students, parents, and school partners
  • Supporting grading, events, competitions, and other Karate Nation activities when required
  • Representing Karate Nation professionally at all times
  • Continuing to develop your own Karate and coaching skills

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 1st Dan Black Belt from a recognised Shotokan Karate organisation
  • Minimum 5 years of Karate experience
  • Proven experience working with children and/or youth
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in Sports Coaching are an advantage
  • Valid and up-to-date CPR and First Aid certification
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Responsible, reliable, and professional approach to coaching
  • Passion for teaching and developing students
  • Willingness to work on weekends
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of your classes
  • A positive and energetic personality
  • A genuine commitment to the values and principles of Karate

REMUNERATION & CAREER PROGRESSION

Salary will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and the number of coaching hours the candidate is able to commit to.

The position is initially part-time, with approximately 30 coaching hours per month. As Karate Nation continues to grow, there will be opportunities for the successful candidate to:

  • Take on additional classes
  • Increase their monthly coaching hours
  • Take on additional coaching responsibilities
  • Develop within the organisation
  • Potentially progress from a part-time position into a full-time coaching role

The progression of the role will depend on the candidate's availability, performance, commitment, and the growth of our programmes.
