Skillbridge Program: Electrical Technologist

Job Summary
As a Skillbridge Partner, Kairos Power has Skillbridge training program opportunities available for service members interested in a career as an Electrical Technologist. We are seeking highly motivated individuals to participate in on-the-job training that will enable them to support process equipment operations. In this Skillbridge program opportunity, you will learn skills on the job in order to contribute to the development and deployment of the company’s engineering testing capabilities including assembly, maintenance and operation of hardware, making/labeling/pulling wires, power supplies, heater controllers, controls and instrumentation, and general equipment. The ideal candidate takes pride in his/her hands-on work, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Assembles and installs process and auxiliary equipment in assigned facilities, using heavy equipment such as forklifts, telehandlers, overhead hoists, and other equipment as needed to support installation.
Assists in design, fabrication, installation, operation, troubleshooting and repair of engineering infrastructure, electrical equipment and test equipment.
Assists in specifying, procuring, assembling, debugging, and maintaining custom-built and commercial electromechanical components and systems (e.g., power supplies, VFDs, solenoid valves, control devices, transformers, relays, and disconnects), including hands-on activity as well as inspection and quality assurance of vendor-supplied components.
Installs and terminates wiring for data acquisition instrumentation on lab equipment such as flow meters, thermocouples, level sensors, pressure transducers, load cells, torque transducers, accelerometers and position sensors.
Performs acceptance testing following new equipment installation including hydrostatic, pneumatic, I/O checks, and electrical component calibration checks.
Supports day-to-day operations of the assigned facility including startup, monitor, and shutdown processes and auxiliary equipment.
Performs minor preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
Performs equipment troubleshooting as necessary.
Performs Lockout-Tagout of mechanical and electrical equipment.
Works closely with engineers to support testing activities, develop procedures, data collection, and implement design iterations.
Maintains lab infrastructure, cleanliness and organization.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
No prior experience required; experience working in mechanical or industrial environments preferred
Must be actively part of Skillbridge via the U.S. DoW
Experience using hand tools and power tools for mechanical applications is a plus
Experience with electrical systems or Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) systems is a plus

Ability to read P&ID and mechanical/electrical drawings preferred
Knowledge of basic electronic cabling systems and control chassis is a plus
Knowledge of circuits, wiring sensors, and/or instrumentation is a plus
