ERP Integration Architect

About the Role The ERP Integration Architect is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the integration architecture that enables secure, reliable, and scalable business processes across the ERP ecosystem. The role provides technical leadership for SAP and non-SAP integrations, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards, cyber security requirements, operational excellence objectives, and business transformation initiatives. The Architect works closely with product teams, enterprise architects, platform engineers, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver integration solutions that support operational stability while enabling future digital capabilities across the organization.

Key Accountabilities Integration Strategy & Architecture Define and maintain the strategic integration architecture roadmap for the ERP platform. Design end-to-end integration solutions across SAP and non-SAP applications, cloud platforms, data services, and external partner ecosystems. Ensure integration patterns, standards, and technologies are fit-for-purpose, scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture principles. Drive adoption of modern integration capabilities including APIs, event-driven architecture, cloud integration, and automation technologies. Solution Design & Governance Lead architecture reviews and provide design assurance for major ERP initiatives, upgrades, and transformation programs. Establish and govern integration standards, reusable patterns, and architectural guardrails. Review solution designs to ensure compliance with cyber security, data privacy, resiliency, and operational requirements. Support project teams through design, build, testing, deployment, and transition to operations. Platform Reliability & Operational Excellence Partner with support teams to improve platform stability, performance, and supportability. Drive proactive identification and reduction of integration-related risks and technical debt. Support incident management activities for critical platform events and provide architectural oversight for resolution and prevention. Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service reliability and operational efficiency. Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with business product teams to understand strategic objectives and translate them into architecture outcomes. Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, system integrators, cloud partners, and technology vendors. Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Influence decision-making through data-driven recommendations and architectural leadership. Innovation & Modernisation Evaluate emerging technologies and integration capabilities that can accelerate business value. Support ERP modernisation programs including cloud adoption, API enablement, automation, AI-powered integrations, and digital platform initiatives. Contribute to the development of future-state ERP and enterprise integration strategies. Safety, Risk & Compliance Ensure all solutions are designed and operated with a strong focus on safety, cyber security, compliance, and risk management. Promote secure-by-design and resilient architecture principles. Identify and manage technology risks that may impact business continuity, operational performance, or regulatory obligations. Foster a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement. Skills & Experience Essential Extensive experience in enterprise integration architecture within large and complex ERP environments. Strong knowledge of SAP integration technologies and architectures. Experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite, SAP PI/PO, API management, middleware platforms, and cloud integration services. Knowledge of integration patterns including APIs, messaging, event-driven architectures, batch processing, and real-time integrations. Experience integrating SAP with cloud, SaaS, data, and enterprise platforms. Strong understanding of cyber security, identity management, data governance, and enterprise architecture practices. Proven ability to lead architecture decisions across multiple stakeholders and vendors. Desirable Experience with S/4HANA transformations and SAP modernization initiatives. Experience with Azure Integration Services and cloud-native integration architectures. Familiarity with AI-enabled integration and automation technologies. Architecture certifications in SAP, cloud, or enterprise architecture disciplines.
