About JYC JY Construction is a Toronto-based general contractor specializing in commercial interiors and tenant fit-outs for retail, restaurant and franchise brands. We operate primarily as a project manager, supported by in-house construction management.

Your tasks

Position Summary The Project Manager is accountable for the successful delivery of assigned projects ? scope, schedule, cost, quality and client satisfaction ? and for developing the project team.

Key Responsibilities

• Take over each project at handover; review scope, budget, schedule and risks at handover.
• Develop the project schedule and coordinate with clients, landlords, designers and consultants.

• Develop the subcontractor base: source, prequalify and build long-term relationships with reliable subcontractors.
• Tender, compare and award subcontracts within the approved budget; manage subcontractor scope, schedule and quality.

• Evaluate subcontractor performance at the end of each project.
• Manage project cost, change orders and progress billing to keep each project within budget.

• Manage permits, inspections, drawings, submittals and RFIs.
• Serve as the client's primary contact during construction and maintain strong client relationships.

• Direct and manage the Site Superintendents and PMAs on your projects: set priorities, review site performance and resolve site issues.
• Hold overall responsibility for site safety and quality in line with OHSA and company standards.

• Lead closeout, deficiency correction, as-built documents and warranty handover.
• Train, develop and lead PMAs and Site Superintendents; request Site Superintendents as project needs require.

Requirements

Qualifications

• 3+ years managing commercial interior or tenant fit-out projects.
• Strong subcontractor management, contract and change order experience.

• Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
• Solid knowledge of construction drawings, the Ontario Building Code and permit processes.

• Valid G driver's licence; Working at Heights and WHMIS training.
• Assets: restaurant or retail experience; Mandarin or Cantonese.

What we offer

Compensation: $70,000 ? $100,000 per year, plus performance bonus.

Pay: $70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
