Option to renew: From 1 Jan 2028 to 20 Oct 2028

Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:

  • 2 weekdays per week, 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • 1-hour lunch break (unpaid) — 8 working hours per day / 16 hours per week
  • Working days/hours may be adjusted based on the school’s needs, but total weekly hours will remain at 16 hours
  • No work on weekends, school holidays, public holidays or during the End-of-Year Examination period

Requirements:

The Personnel

  • Should preferably have a certification or diploma in social work, counselling, psychology or other related fields.
  • Should preferably have an accreditation in restorative practices.
  • Should preferably have at least 2 years of working experience in counselling, social work or working with youths.

Job Scopes:

The Student Support Officer will work closely with the Student Management Team to support the development and well-being of at-risk students, particularly those with disciplinary issues, attendance concerns or who may be at risk of dropping out.

  • Support student case management, including locating students, fact-finding and preliminary investigations.
  • Manage students under detention, in-school suspension, reintegration programmes and time-out arrangements.
  • Monitor latecomers and student attendance, and maintain relevant records.
  • Conduct school patrols to monitor student behaviour and identify students who may require additional support.
  • Engage, mentor and provide social-emotional support to students through regular check-ins.
  • Guide students in areas such as emotional regulation, communication, problem-solving, resilience and life skills.
  • Support students with behavioural, emotional or social concerns and escalate concerns where necessary.
  • Develop and facilitate suitable engagement activities for targeted students.
  • Work with teachers, school counsellors and other school personnel on student cases and intervention plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of student cases, counselling activities, interventions and disciplinary matters.
  • Assist with data entry, discipline statistics and other administrative duties related to student management.
  • Support communication with students through appropriate digital platforms where required.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with the school’s policies on student information and records.
  • Perform other student management, administrative and operational duties as assigned by the school.
