Legal Associate

(1-4 Years Experience) Joseph Lopez LLP is inviting applications for the position of Legal Associate. We are a boutique dispute resolution practice with a strong track record in High Court litigation and especially in cross-border international arbitration, particularly in matters involving maritime and shipping, commodities and cross-border international trade sector as well as in the corporate disputes sector.

We are looking for motivated legal associates with 1-4 years of experience to join our growing team. At Joseph Lopez LLP, you will work alongside a close-knit group of dedicated practitioners on a wide spectrum of complex commercial and cross-border disputes. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal research, analysis, and writing on a variety of matters, including corporate, commercial, and litigation.
• Draft and review legal documents, such as legal opinions, briefs, submissions, contracts, agreements, pleadings, and memoranda.
• Assist in managing cases, preparing for trials, hearings, and negotiations.
• Advise clients on legal matters and provide support throughout ongoing legal processes.
• Collaborate with senior associates on case strategy and legal matters.
• Represent clients in court hearings or other legal proceedings as needed (depending on practice area).
• Keep abreast of developments in the law and industry regulations.

Qualifications:

• 1-4 years of experience in a law firm or legal department (corporate or litigation with arbitration experience preferred).
• A good law degree from an accredited law school.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional research and analytical abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong relationship-building skills and ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with the team.
• Well-rounded individual, outgoing personality, with a passion for advocacy.
