Inspector General
About the Position: Serve as an Inspector General with responsibility for conducting inspections and investigations, and planning and executing site visits to Headquarters, U.S. European Command (USEUCOM), its major subordinate commands, units and activities throughout the USEUCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR).
Major duties
- Plans comprehensive inspection schedules and site visit operational concepts to systematically evaluate organizational efficiency, compliance, and overall mission readiness.
- Analyzes recurring deficiency trends and inspection findings to generate sound, actionable recommendations for senior leadership decision-making.
- Compiles complex qualitative and quantitative data sets into structured statistical summaries, tables, and fact sheets to support leadership reviews.
- Delivers oral briefings and executive presentations on complex inspection findings or survey analytics to defend recommendations and influence organizational change.
- Authors detailed inspection reports, inquiry summaries, and formal memoranda to document systemic findings, compliance determinations, and mandatory corrective actions.
- Supports and coordinates the annual command climate survey using the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) Organizational Climate Survey (DEOCS) Report.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Conducting organizational inspections or compliance reviews to evaluate operational effectiveness against established standards; 2) Evaluating assessment survey data or operational climate results to identify systemic trends or develop corrective recommendations; AND 3) Directing study team workflows or project review assignments to ensure the timely completion of compliance reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
