Senior Database Administrator - #1233

Job Description:

• Responsible for keeping an organization’s database environments secure, stable, high-performing, and available for business-critical applications.
• Able to lead the design, administration, optimization, and support of enterprise database platforms while working closely with infrastructure, applications, security, and business teams.
• Manage, maintain, and support enterprise database systems in production, test, and development environments
• Administer database platforms such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relevant technologies
• Monitor database health, performance, storage, availability, and capacity
• Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and migration activities
• Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, outages, and performance issues
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to protect business data
• Optimise SQL queries, indexing, and overall database performance
• Ensure database security, access control, encryption, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
• Support high availability solutions such as clustering, replication, failover, and standby environments
• Work with application and infrastructure teams to support system integration, deployments, and release activities
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior DB administrators and project teams
• Participate in on-call support, incident response, and problem management as required
