Production Supervisor

We are recruiting on behalf of an established and growing technology-led business with an international customer base.

The company designs, develops and delivers specialist technology and equipment used by customers across a range of professional and commercial environments. As the business continues to grow, they are looking for an organised, commercially aware Production Supervisor to help coordinate production, purchasing, supply chain and fulfilment activities.

This is a hands-on and varied position, ideal for someone who enjoys working across different areas of an operation and taking ownership of getting things done. The company will consider applications from a confident Production Coordinator looking to take a step up or an experienced Production Supervisor.

You will play an important role in ensuring that materials, suppliers, production activities and finished products move efficiently from customer order through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Purchasing

• Review upcoming customer orders and identify required materials, components and resources.
• Coordinate purchasing activities and raise and manage purchase orders.
• Monitor supplier deliveries and proactively follow up on outstanding orders.
• Source components and obtain and compare supplier quotations where required.
• Ensure production has the materials, components and information required to meet deadlines.
• Monitor stock levels and support inventory management, replenishment and stock checks.
• Develop positive and effective relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
• Identify and escalate potential supply issues, shortages or delays.

Logistics & Fulfilment

• Coordinate UK and international deliveries, collections and freight.
• Obtain freight quotations and arrange shipments with logistics and freight partners.
• Prepare commercial invoices, export documentation and other relevant shipping paperwork.
• Coordinate completed customer orders through to dispatch.
• Ensure relevant delivery and setup information is provided to customers and internal teams.

Production & Quality

• Provide practical support to the production team to keep customer orders moving.
• Help ensure products are assembled, tested and completed to the required quality standards and customer specifications.
• Prepare and programme equipment for testing prior to dispatch.
• Carry out basic troubleshooting and identify and escalate technical or quality issues where appropriate.
• Help identify recurring production or quality issues and contribute to improvements.

Communication & Operational Support

• Provide accurate updates on order progress, expected delivery dates and potential issues.
• Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier, stock and order information within internal systems.
• Work closely with operations, production, sales, technical and customer-facing teams.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers, logistics providers and other external partners.
• Help identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and customer fulfilment.
• Take a proactive approach to resolving issues and ensuring customer commitments are met.

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, practical and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.

You may have experience in production, purchasing, procurement, supply chain, logistics or operations coordination, although relevant training will be provided for the right candidate.

You'll ideally bring:

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with suppliers and external partners.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• A proactive, practical and hands-on approach to problem solving.
• Good Excel and general IT skills.
• An understanding of production, purchasing, procurement or logistics processes.
• Experience using an ERP or MRP system would be advantageous.
• Experience with shipping or export documentation would be beneficial.
• A technical aptitude and confidence working with electronic equipment or technology.
• The ability to work collaboratively while also taking ownership of your responsibilities.
