Virtual Technical Assessment Team Analyst

Your tasks

• TechnicalAssessmentCoordination:CoordinatetechnicalapprovallettersforShipAlteration(ShipAlt)requestsandTechnicalAssessmentTeam(TAT)reviewsrelatedtoShipChangeDocuments(SCDs).
• ShipModernizationSupport:AssisttheVirtualTechnicalAssessmentTeamLeadinreviewingandmanagingSCDsforNimitz-classandFord-classaircraftcarriers,ensuringdocumentationandassessmentssupportmodernizationrequirements.
• TaskandPriorityManagement:Keeptheteamleadinformedofcurrentassignments,workloadchanges,andemergingpriorities.Identifyopportunitiestoimproveoperationalefficiency,streamlinereviewprocesses,andreducedocumentationbacklogs.
• StatusReporting:PrepareweeklySCDstatusreportsfortheteamleadandsupportreportingtotheProjectManagerforModernizationaheadofscheduledVTATmeetings.Providestatusupdatesandcoordinationsupportwhentheteamleadisunavailable.
• Cross-FunctionalCollaboration:Coordinatewithengineeringagents,technicalauthorities,TypeCommanders(TYCOM),programmanagementoffices,shipbuildingsupervisors,navalshipyards,shiprepairfacilities,andotherstakeholderstoaddresstechnicalquestionsandresolveoutstandingissues.
• TechnicalDocumentationReview:Examinetechnicaldatapackages,engineeringdrawings,reports,logisticsdocumentation,trainingmaterials,andrelateddeliverablestoassesstheircompleteness,accuracy,andalignmentwithprogramrequirements.
• TechnicalRecommendations:Evaluateproposedshipchangesandsupportingdocumentation,identifypotentialconcerns,andproviderecommendationsthatfacilitatetechnicalapprovalsandsoundmodernizationdecisions.
• ExecutiveBriefings:Developclear,professionalpresentationsandbriefseniorofficialsontechnicalassessments,documentationstatus,outstandingissues,andrecommendedactions.
• ProcessImprovement:Contributetomoreeffectivereviewandcoordinationpracticesbyidentifyingrecurringchallenges,improvingcommunication,andsupportingtimelycompletionoftechnicalassessments.

Requirements

• Education:Highschooldiplomaorequivalentrequired.
• RelevantExperience:Atleastthreeyearsofexperiencedeveloping,managing,orcontrollingshipchangedocumentation,orperformingsimilardocumentcontrolactivities.
• NavalSystemsKnowledge:PreviousexperienceworkingwithsystemsassociatedwithCVN-68-classorCVN-78-classaircraftcarriersisrequired.
• U.S.NavyVesselExperience:ExperiencesupportingU.S.Navyvesselsisessential,withexperienceinvolvingnuclear-poweredshipsstronglypreferred.
• ShipChangeDocumentation:FamiliaritywithShipAlterations(ShipAlts),ShipChangeDocuments(SCDs),TechnicalAssessmentTeam(TAT)reviews,andassociatedapprovalprocessesishighlydesirable.
• TechnicalDocumentationSkills:Abilitytoreviewandinterpretengineeringdrawings,technicalreports,logisticsproducts,andothercomplexdocumentationwhileidentifyingdiscrepanciesanddevelopingpracticalrecommendations.
• CommunicationSkills:Demonstratedabilitytocommunicateeffectivelywithtechnicalandnon-technicalstakeholdersatallorganizationallevels,includingpreparingreports,coordinatingtechnicaldiscussions,anddeliveringpresentations.
• PreferredIndustryExperience:Experienceworkingwithoratashipyard,NavalSurfaceWarfareCenter(NSWC),NavalUnderseaWarfareCenter(NUWC),SupervisorofShipbuildingCommand(SUPSHIP),RegionalMaintenanceCenter(RMC),orTypeCommander(TYCOM)ispreferred.
• RelevantTechnicalBackground:Experiencesupportingtheconstruction,operation,maintenance,modernization,orrepairofshipboardelectricalsystemsisanadvantage.
• OrganizationalSkills:Strongattentiontodetail,timemanagement,prioritization,andcoordinationskills,withtheabilitytomanagemultipleassignmentsandmeetreportingdeadlines.
• SecurityRequirements:MustbeaU.S.citizenandholdacurrentoractiveSecretsecurityclearance,orbeeligibletoobtainanInterimSecretclearancebeforestartingtheposition.
• RemoteWorkRequirements:Abilitytoworkeffectivelyinafullyremoteenvironment,remainseatedforapproximately50%oftheworkingtime,andcommunicateregularlywithcolleagues,management,andcustomersthroughemail,telephone,andvirtualmeetings.
