Validation Analyst

Accountabilities: Design, develop, and execute validation activities to ensure software quality, functionality, and compliance with established standards and requirements.

Create and maintain test cases, validation protocols, test scripts, and associated documentation throughout the software development lifecycle.

Perform multiple levels of testing, including smoke, integration, system, regression, and post-production validation activities.

Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate data accuracy, identify quality issues, and support data integrity initiatives.

Develop and utilize test datasets to support functional, integration, and data validation activities.

Collaborate closely with development and business teams to identify, investigate, and resolve defects and software issues.

Track software versions, enhancements, defects, and validation efforts to ensure accurate documentation and traceability.

Participate in testing activities related to new product releases, enhancements, bug fixes, and ongoing system improvements.

Support projects involving data lakes, data warehouses, ETL processes, and cloud-based environments while ensuring high testing standards.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing test coverage, optimizing validation methodologies, and improving overall quality processes.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

Approximately 4–6 years of experience in software quality assurance, testing, or validation roles.

Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and software development lifecycle frameworks, including SDLC, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and iterative delivery approaches.

Hands-on experience in writing complex SQL queries for data validation and quality assurance activities.

Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, big data environments, data lakes, and cloud-based platforms.

Experience with testing tools and application lifecycle management platforms such as Jira, Azure DevOps (TFS), and Confluence.

Familiarity with programming and scripting languages such as Python, SAS, PySpark, PL/SQL, or related technologies is preferred.

Understanding of data quality principles, data governance concepts, and testing within regulated environments.

Experience creating test cases, test scripts, validation documentation, and defect tracking processes.

Prior experience with pharmaceutical, clinical, healthcare, or regulated software environments is considered an advantage.

Familiarity with web-based SaaS applications and cloud testing practices is preferred.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with global teams and work effectively in remote or hybrid environments.
