Supervisor, Referrals
Accountabilities: Referral and Authorization Oversight: Supervise the processing of referrals and authorizations, monitoring team activities to ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established performance standards.
Team Coordination: Serve as a resource for associates by coordinating referral and authorization activities, answering operational questions, and helping the team navigate process-related challenges.
Workload Management: Prioritize and distribute caseloads among team members to optimize available resources, maintain appropriate workloads, and support consistent service levels.
Operational Continuity: Implement contingency operations and adjust team priorities as needed to maintain performance standards during changing volumes, staffing challenges, or other operational disruptions.
Issue Resolution: Research and resolve complex issues related to referrals and authorizations, identifying appropriate solutions and communicating relevant information to team members and stakeholders.
Training and Development: Facilitate required training for non-clinical associates and provide ongoing coaching to strengthen performance, knowledge, and professional capabilities.
Performance Management: Support associate development and future growth opportunities through regular coaching, feedback, performance management plans, and guidance on professional objectives.
Requirements:
Supervisory Experience: At least 3 years of supervisory, management, or Team Lead experience , with demonstrated ability to coordinate workloads, support employees, and manage team performance.
Referral and Authorization Expertise: At least 5 years of experience in referral and authorization management , with strong knowledge of related processes, workflows, and operational requirements.
TRICARE Experience: Previous or current TRICARE experience is required.
Government Contract Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen due to the requirements of the applicable Department of Defense contract.
Security Clearance: Must be able to successfully receive interim approval for a government security clearance through the National Background Investigation Services (NBIS).
Geographic Eligibility: Candidates must not currently reside in Puerto Rico due to the requirements of the applicable government contract.
Leadership and Communication: Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach associates, resolve operational issues, and coordinate competing priorities.
Remote Work Readiness: Ability to work independently from a dedicated workspace that protects confidential member and healthcare information, with reliable internet connectivity of at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload .
Travel Flexibility: Although the position is remote, occasional travel to company offices for training or meetings may be required.
