Your tasks

• PerformanceStrategyandTechnicalRoadmap:Definethecompiler'sperformancedirectionbyanalyzingbenchmarks,productionworkloads,andcustomerrequirementstoidentifythemostimpactfuloptimizationopportunities.
• CompilerOptimizationandCodeGeneration:Leadthedesignandimplementationofcomplex,cross-cuttingoptimizationsacrosscompileroptimizationpipelinesandcodegenerationsystems.
• ArchitectureandTechnicalDirection:Makekeyarchitecturaldecisionsconcerningtheoptimizationpipeline,compilation-timebudgets,tieredcompilationstrategies,andthebalancebetweenpeakperformance,startuptime,andcodesize.
• RuntimeandGarbageCollectionIntegration:Drivethedesignofinterfacesbetweenthecompiler,runtime,andgarbagecollector,ensuringeffectivecoordinationaroundspeculation,deoptimization,andmemory-managementbarriers.
• HardwareandProductEnablement:Leadengineeringeffortstosupportnewhardwareplatformsandproductcapabilities,ensuringcompilerperformanceandarchitecturalscalability.
• TechnicalLeadershipandMentoring:Providetechnicalguidancetoseniorengineers,reviewcriticaldesignsandcode,andestablishbestpracticesforperformancemeasurement,benchmarking,andvalidation.
• PerformanceAnalysis:Investigateperformancebottlenecksatthemicroarchitecturelevelandtranslatefindingsintomeasurableimprovementsincompilerefficiencyandgeneratedmachinecode.
• LLVMCommunityEngagement:RepresenttheengineeringteamintheLLVMecosystembycontributingtoupstreamdevelopment,participatinginarchitecturaldiscussions,andadvancingcompilertechnologiesformanagedprogramminglanguages.
• Cross-FunctionalCollaboration:Partnerwithruntime,garbagecollection,andproductengineeringteamstoaligntechnicaldecisionswithbroaderplatformobjectivesandlong-termproductrequirements.

Requirements

• ProfessionalExperience:Atleast8yearsofprofessionalexperiencedevelopingoptimizingcompilersorjust-in-time(JIT)compilers.
• TechnicalLeadership:Demonstratedexperienceleadingthearchitectureanddesignofmajorcompilercomponentsoroptimizationframeworksdeployedinproductionenvironments.
• C++Expertise:Expert-levelproficiencyinC++andexperiencedeveloping,maintaining,andevolvinglarge,long-livedsoftwarecodebases.
• CompilerOptimization:Deepknowledgeofcompileroptimizationtechniques,codegeneration,andoptimizationpipelinearchitecture.
• PerformanceEngineering:Advancedperformanceanalysisskills,includingmicroarchitecture-levelinvestigation,benchmarking,profiling,andbottleneckidentification.
• OptimizationTrade-Offs:Strongunderstandingofthetrade-offsbetweenpeakexecutionperformance,compilationtime,applicationwarmup,andgeneratedcodesize.
• ArchitecturalJudgment:Abilitytomakesoundtechnicaldecisionsacrosscomplexsystems,balancingimmediateperformanceimprovementswithlong-termmaintainabilityandproductevolution.
• CommunicationandCollaboration:Strongtechnicalcommunicationskillsandtheabilitytoinfluencearchitecturaldecisions,collaborateacrossengineeringdisciplines,andmentorexperiencedengineersinadistributedteamenvironment.

• LLVMContributions:RecognizedcontributionstoLLVMoranothermajorcompilerproject,suchasservingasacodeownerormaintainerorauthoringsignificantupstreamimprovements.
• Managed-LanguageJITExperience:DeepexperiencewithJITcompilersformanagedlanguages,suchasHotSpotC2,Graal,V8,.NETRyuJIT,orcomparabletechnologies.
• RuntimeandGarbageCollectionExpertise:Experiencecollaboratingcloselywithruntimeandgarbagecollectionteamsonspeculation,deoptimization,memorybarriers,andrelatedcompiler-runtimeinteractions.
