Accountabilities: Commission energy storage systems: Commission Storage Power Blocks and associated battery energy storage equipment at utility-scale project sites, ensuring systems are installed, tested, and operational according to required standards.

Perform maintenance and repairs: Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance to support equipment reliability, warranty requirements, and system availability.

Support long-term service agreements: Execute service obligations across battery energy storage systems, including energy storage cabinets, power conversion systems, ring main units, switchgear, transformers, SCADA equipment, and networking devices.

Troubleshoot equipment: Provide onsite diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and hands-on technical support to help maintain equipment performance and meet availability and capacity commitments.

Manage field activities: Oversee subcontractors when required, coordinate site activities, and help ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to expected quality standards.

Follow safety procedures: Apply appropriate Lockout/Tagout and electrical switching procedures while consistently following health, safety, and environmental requirements.

Document service activities: Complete work orders accurately and on time, maintain service records, and ensure spare-parts inventories are properly tracked.

Support customers: Assist with customer training during commissioning and provide professional technical support throughout service engagements.

Improve processes: Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures, service processes, and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Collaborate across teams: Work effectively with colleagues, contractors, customers, and project partners to resolve issues and achieve project objectives.

Travel extensively: Travel to regional and project locations throughout the United States, with travel expected to exceed 50% of working time.

Requirements

Technical background: Qualified Electrical Technician with at least 5 years of relevant experience in a service environment, preferably within renewable energy, energy storage, power generation, or related electrical infrastructure.

Energy and power systems knowledge: Previous training and practical knowledge of inverters is required; familiarity with medium-voltage power systems, energy storage applications, and applicable general and national electrical codes is highly valuable.

BESS experience: Previous experience working with battery energy storage systems or renewable power-generation equipment in a field-service environment is required.

SCADA and controls: Experience with SCADA systems is beneficial, particularly in diagnosing and supporting connected energy infrastructure.

Safety certifications: OSHA 30 certification is preferred; OSHA 10 may be accepted provided OSHA 30 certification is obtained shortly after joining. First Aid training is also required.

Software and systems: Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel; familiarity with CMMS software is preferred.

Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, contractors, colleagues, and project stakeholders.

Problem-solving: Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and analytical abilities, combined with a practical approach to resolving field issues.

Independence and teamwork: Ability to work effectively with limited supervision while also collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Professionalism: Demonstrated professional appearance and conduct, with a strong commitment to customer service, accountability, and quality.

Mobility: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and willingness and ability to travel extensively to project sites across the United States.
