Software Development Engineer - .Net or RoR
Accountabilities Design, develop, test, and deploy reusable, maintainable, efficient, and high-quality software for large-scale production environments.
Build and enhance applications using Ruby on Rails and/or C#, with opportunities to work across APIs and React-based user interfaces.
Develop and consume REST APIs while designing solutions that support scalability, availability, fault tolerance, and low latency.
Apply test-driven development, strong object-oriented programming practices, debugging techniques, and appropriate data structures and algorithms.
Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and business stakeholders to define solutions, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver new capabilities.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, containerized environments, and modern deployment practices.
Address non-functional requirements including application security, performance, scalability, reliability, and load.
Raise technical standards through strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, documentation, knowledge sharing, and systemic problem solving.
Mentor other engineers and contribute to improving team capabilities, engineering practices, and technical decision-making.
Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve development workflows, operational efficiency, and system scalability.
Use AI tools responsibly to accelerate software development, root-cause analysis, case-history summarization, documentation, and knowledge-base creation.
Measure and communicate improvements enabled by AI and share effective practices with engineering peers.
Strengthen cross-functional collaboration by improving clarity, communication, and execution across technical and product teams.
Requirements
8+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails or C#, with strong software engineering experience in production environments.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
Strong understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
Solid object-oriented programming, debugging, data structures, and algorithm skills.
Experience working within Agile/Scrum development teams.
Experience designing and developing scalable systems and low-latency APIs.
Understanding of highly available, resilient, and fault-tolerant systems.
Experience building or working with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using tools such as GitLab and Terraform.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes; experience with ECS or Docker Swarm is also valuable.
Experience with at least one major cloud platform, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Knowledge of web application security and secure software development practices.
Ability to analyze technical problems from multiple perspectives, evaluate trade-offs, and select effective solutions.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical updates and resolutions clearly to customers, partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to mentor teammates, share knowledge, document solutions, and improve engineering standards.
Strong adaptability, creativity, persistence, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
Willingness to embrace AI as an essential engineering capability and apply AI tools to everyday technical challenges.
