Senior Sales Executive, Renewable Energy Advisory
Accountabilities: Own and expand strategic client relationships across the U.S., developing long-term partnerships with renewable energy developers, utilities, asset owners, operators, investors, and lenders.
Lead commercial growth for renewable energy advisory, asset advisory, energy advisory, and digital solutions, including technical advisory support for M&A transactions involving solar, wind, and battery storage portfolios.
Develop and execute multi-year account plans, growth strategies, and go-to-market approaches in collaboration with service leaders and senior stakeholders.
Identify, qualify, and pursue high-value opportunities, partnering with technical experts to develop differentiated solutions and establish lasting client relationships.
Lead complex proposal and pursuit strategies, including scope definition, commercial positioning, pricing, budgeting, risk mitigation, and negotiation through close.
Present value propositions and advisory solutions to executive-level stakeholders, guiding opportunities from initial engagement through contract execution.
Build and maintain detailed strategic account plans covering relationship mapping, competitive positioning, client priorities, win strategies, and growth objectives.
Serve as a senior commercial representative for renewable energy advisory services, building trusted relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
Coordinate internal subject matter experts, engineers, solution architects, and other resources to support sophisticated, technically driven sales opportunities.
Collaborate with marketing teams on market campaigns, thought leadership, service positioning, and industry-facing initiatives.
Identify cross-business opportunities and coordinate with leaders across functions to maximize client value and enterprise growth.
Represent the organization at conferences, trade shows, workshops, industry associations, and executive business development events.
Mentor less-experienced sales professionals, sharing commercial best practices and contributing to stronger sales strategies and team effectiveness.
Requirements
10–15+ years of experience in the renewable energy industry, with strong knowledge of the project lifecycle, market dynamics, and technical challenges across solar, wind, and energy storage.
Extensive customer-facing experience managing complex, strategic, and high-value enterprise accounts.
Demonstrated understanding of renewable energy risks and the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and executive audiences.
Experience with project finance, technical due diligence, and M&A transactions involving renewable energy assets or portfolios.
Strong commercial acumen and a proven track record in enterprise, consultative, and value-based sales.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex, technically driven engagements and convert strategic opportunities into successful commercial outcomes.
Experience developing competitive proposals and coordinating cross-functional teams across technical, commercial, and leadership functions.
Exceptional executive-level verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to establish trusted-advisor relationships with senior decision-makers, influencers, and account stakeholders.
Strong strategic thinking, business development, account planning, and market positioning capabilities.
Self-directed, adaptable, and results-oriented, with the ability to prioritize competing opportunities and drive outcomes in a fast-moving environment.
Collaborative leadership style, with the confidence to influence across departments, challenge constructively, and mentor colleagues.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional background is expected.
Benefits
Estimated annual compensation of $192,500–$245,000 USD , including a base salary of $110,000–$140,000 USD and performance-based compensation.
Eligibility for a sales incentive plan with an annual target incentive of 75% of base salary , paid quarterly and subject to performance.
Compensation may vary based on experience, skills, geographic location, and other relevant factors.
