Senior Automation Engineer
Accountabilities Design, develop, test, and deploy Python-based automations and agentic workflows for simple-to-medium complexity business processes, taking solutions from requirements through production.
Build and integrate LLM-based agents and orchestration or tooling frameworks, selecting an appropriate level of agentic capability for each business task.
Deploy and operate automation solutions on Google Cloud Platform, integrating applications with APIs, databases, and enterprise systems as required.
Develop automated unit and integration tests and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines to support reliable, repeatable deployments.
Diagnose technical defects, troubleshoot production issues, optimize performance, and stabilize automations before transitioning them to support teams.
Occasionally evaluate existing RPA or UiPath automations and convert suitable processes into Python-based agentic solutions.
Provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers, conduct peer code reviews, and promote coding standards, maintainability, and reusable solutions.
Represent the technical solution in client meetings, clearly explaining architecture, trade-offs, risks, and implementation approaches to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Collaborate with data engineers, DevOps professionals, product managers, business analysts, and subject-matter experts to prioritize and deliver automation initiatives.
Stay current with developments in agentic AI and intelligent automation and contribute to improving delivery methodologies, technical practices, and service offerings.
Requirements
5+ years of hands-on Python software engineering experience, including production services, APIs, and data pipelines.
Practical experience building or integrating agentic AI automations, such as LLM-based agents and orchestration frameworks, for business processes of simple-to-medium complexity.
Strong analytical and solution-design abilities, with the capacity to translate business requirements into clean, efficient, and maintainable Python or agentic solutions.
Experience with Python data and engineering libraries such as Pandas and NumPy, combined with strong testing and software development practices.
Proficiency with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes and experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
Hands-on exposure to Google Cloud Platform, including technologies such as Compute Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, or equivalent services; deep GCP expertise is not required.
Experience deploying and managing Python applications and agentic solutions using Kubernetes, including GKE and Google App Engine.
Strong experience working within Agile/Scrum enterprise environments alongside business analysts, developers, and business stakeholders.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical challenges, solutions, and trade-offs clearly.
Ability to work collaboratively while demonstrating ownership, problem-solving ability, and a continuous-learning mindset.
Experience with UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate, or other RPA platforms is advantageous, particularly for occasional RPA-to-agentic conversions.
Exposure to UiPath AI Center, Action Center, agentic AI solution design, or an Advanced RPA Developer certification is a plus.
Consulting or client-facing delivery experience and familiarity with AWS or Azure are additional advantages.
Interest in adjacent technologies such as process mining, low-code platforms, and conversational AI is valued.
