Accountabilities Serve as a senior operational liaison and visible revenue cycle leader for market, facility, and functional stakeholders throughout transition, go-live, and stabilization activities.

Coordinate daily operational alignment across internal leadership, managed service teams, technology partners, and other vendors to identify, prioritize, and resolve revenue cycle issues.

Support command center routines, including leadership huddles, hospital billing dashboard reviews, market and national issue reviews, and executive reporting sessions.

Monitor and analyze revenue cycle KPIs and operational dashboards, including cash posted, A/R days, aged A/R, DNFB, CFB, clean claim rates, claim edits, denial trends, charge lag, registration quality, payment posting, and reconciliation.

Review daily market and functional performance trends, identify areas that are off track, and escalate critical risks requiring leadership intervention.

Partner with operational leaders to validate work queue activity, inventory completion, payer follow-up, denial resolution, billing corrections, payment posting, and account reconciliation.

Support market leaders in documenting, prioritizing, and resolving issues identified through service-management platforms, functional huddles, vendor meetings, dashboards, and leadership escalation channels.

Reinforce adherence to standardized revenue cycle workflows, payer requirements, hospital policies, HIPAA obligations, regulatory expectations, and approved operating procedures.

Coordinate with Patient Access, HIM, Coding/CDI, Revenue Integrity, Billing, A/R Follow-Up, Denials, NOA, Cash Posting, Credit Balance, Contract Compliance, and Finance teams to address operational dependencies and gaps.

Prepare executive-ready communications covering prioritized issues, root causes, mitigation strategies, action items, owners, deadlines, and upcoming priorities.

Maintain a strong leadership presence during go-live and post-live stabilization, validating process adoption and ensuring operational barriers are routed promptly to the appropriate owners.

Develop and refine job aids, SOPs, reporting standards, escalation pathways, meeting materials, and communication resources that support revenue cycle stabilization.

Promote proactive issue identification, transparent communication, disciplined follow-through, accountability, urgency, and collaborative stakeholder relationships.

Confirm that operational work is progressing within host systems and that reporting aligns with assigned worklists and reliable source-of-truth data.

Monitor daily productivity, quality, and inventory movement and escalate performance gaps when expected progress is not achieved.

Manage multiple high-priority issues simultaneously while maintaining sound judgment, executive communication, and operational focus.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and at least 12 years of relevant healthcare revenue cycle experience; equivalent relevant experience or an advanced degree may substitute for formal education where appropriate.

Significant hospital revenue cycle leadership experience within a provider organization, health system, centralized business office, shared services organization, outsourcing environment, consulting practice, or managed services setting.

Demonstrated experience leading complex revenue cycle operations, transition initiatives, operational stabilization, cross-functional issue resolution, and executive-level stakeholder communication.

Strong working knowledge of hospital billing, A/R follow-up, denials, payment posting, cash reconciliation, revenue integrity, HIM and coding dependencies, NOA, patient access, payer escalation, and revenue cycle KPI management.

Experience supporting large-scale revenue cycle transitions, insourcing initiatives, vendor transitions, command center operations, or post-go-live stabilization is highly desirable.

Familiarity with Epic, MEDITECH, hospital billing systems, payer portals, work queue management, dashboard reporting, ServiceNow, or comparable revenue cycle technologies is preferred.

Strong understanding of HFMA MAP metrics, hospital revenue cycle performance indicators, payer escalation processes, denial prevention, underpayment resolution, and operational reporting is a plus.

Ability to synthesize complex operational information and develop concise, executive-ready presentations, reports, recommendations, and action plans.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the executive presence necessary to influence senior revenue cycle, finance, market, and facility leaders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify root causes, assess operational risks, and recommend effective solutions.

Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities, stakeholders, deadlines, and operational challenges in a complex healthcare environment.

Mission-driven leadership style with the ability to build trust quickly, foster collaboration, and reinforce accountability during periods of significant organizational change.

Ability to support onsite or hybrid market engagement as required, including significant travel during critical transition and stabilization periods.

Willingness to travel up to 50% as needed for field oversight, stakeholder engagement, and operational support.

Annual salary range of $118,000–$196,000 , depending on skills, experience, training, and other relevant qualifications.
