Process Engineering Project Technical Leader - Microelectronics
Your tasks
You will take ownership of complete treatment solutions from initial development through successful operation, coordinating process engineering specialists and ensuring technical, commercial, and customer objectives remain aligned. You will lead engineering decisions, manage technical risks, and promote collaboration across project teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Lead the development of integrated water, wastewater, and waste treatment solutions, including process flow sheets, unit operations, and process parameters, using internal and industry-standard design tools.
- Own the overall Process Flow Diagram (PFD), flow tables, mass balances, and process guarantees in collaboration with engineers responsible for individual technologies.
- Define the process strategy, including the design basis, safety factors, flow variation management, and approaches to meeting customer specifications and competitive requirements.
- Coordinate process engineering specialists, establish project deliverables and schedules, allocate responsibilities, and ensure work meets quality and timeline expectations.
- Evaluate interactions between individual treatment processes and assess their effects on upstream and downstream operations.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage technical risks across the complete treatment solution.
- Act as the primary technical contact for customers and internal project stakeholders.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause investigations using operational data, observations, and engineering analysis, ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable regulations and coordinate with regulatory agencies when necessary.
- Take accountability for treatment performance, successful system operation, project outcomes, and customer satisfaction throughout project development.
- Communicate project progress, technical concerns, and recommendations proactively, collaborating across teams to resolve issues.
- Represent technical expertise through customer presentations, industry conferences, and other external engagement activities.
- Provide technical training, one-to-one coaching, and mentoring to develop the capabilities of other engineers.
- Make high-impact technical decisions that balance performance, reliability, safety, cost, and commercial viability.
Requirements
You will bring a strong engineering foundation and relevant experience in process engineering, particularly in the design or operation of water, wastewater, or waste treatment systems. - A degree in another technical discipline, such as science, may also be considered when supported by relevant experience.
- Relevant professional experience in process engineering, preferably involving the design and/or operation of water, wastewater, or waste treatment systems.
- Demonstrated leadership experience or the ability to lead technical teams and coordinate specialists who may not report directly to you.
- Ability to establish a shared vision, align team members around common objectives, and motivate others toward successful project delivery.
- Strong technical judgment and the ability to make informed decisions with limited information in evolving project environments.
- Experience evaluating complex treatment processes, system integration, technical risks, and performance requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to customers and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
- Customer-focused approach, with the ability to balance engineering performance, commercial considerations, and customer requirements.
- Ability to train, coach, and mentor colleagues while promoting technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
- Willingness to work in an office-based environment and travel periodically within North America, with occasional travel beyond the region.
