Your tasks

• Maintain, support, and continuously improve critical legacy systems developed in C++.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects while ensuring application stability and reliability.
• Design, develop, and implement new features based on technical and business requirements.
• Analyze system architecture, data structures, and performance to identify bottlenecks and deliver high-performance solutions.
• Apply object-oriented programming principles and sound software engineering practices to maintain code quality.
• Work with relational databases and data models to support application functionality and data integrity.
• Use version control tools, particularly Git, to manage code changes and collaborate effectively.
• Partner with the development team to investigate complex technical issues, review solutions, and maintain software quality.
• Contribute to the ongoing evolution and maintainability of enterprise software systems.

Requirements

• Degree, technology degree, or postgraduate qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Advanced proficiency in C++ programming and object-oriented programming concepts.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithmic reasoning, and performance analysis.
• Advanced knowledge of relational databases and data modeling.
• Proven experience maintaining and supporting enterprise software applications.
• Advanced proficiency with version control tools, particularly Git.
• Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to diagnose and solve complex technical problems.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate on technical solutions.
• A proactive, analytical approach to troubleshooting, software maintenance, and continuous improvement.

Nice to have

• Experience with C++ Builder (Embarcadero), Microsoft Visual C++, or GCC.
• Programming experience with Python.
• Familiarity with Linux environments.
• Experience developing or maintaining batch applications.
• Knowledge of electrical distribution network models or specialized power network software, such as SINAPgrid, OpenDSS, Cymdist, or ANAREDE.
